Pathways to Farming – new markets for local produce
Launch Event, Monday 22nd Oct, 5pm – 7pm, Caffi Alys, Machynlleth
We would like to invite you to attend the launch of the Pathways to Farming / Llwybrau Ffermio (PtF) project run by community organisation Mach Maethlon.
PtF aims to increase the amount of fruit and vegetables grown and eaten in the Dyfi Valley, thus strengthening our local food economy. We are beginning a training programme for new food growers interested in progressing to commercial food production.
We also want to link with local businesses to develop new markets for locally grown produce. This event is organised jointly with the Dyfi Biosphere, who are helping cafes and restaurants use more local, fresh and seasonal produce and to promote this to their customers.
We would specifically like to invite caterers, cafes, restaurants and tourism providers to talk about the value that local produce can bring to their menus. We would like to propose some new selling models and hear your feedback on which ones will work for you.
The event will be a chance to meet some existing market garden businesses and talk to them about your local food needs.
We would be delighted if you could join us at Caffi Alys for a brief presentation on the PtF project, discussion on the value of local produce and feedback from you about your needs as a business.
There will be local food snacks available at the end and a chance to network with other local businesses.
Please RSVP to confirm your attendance.
